TDJBCF will host its monthly support group on Wednesday, June 17, at 6 pm with guest speaker Talya Gordon ’20, a University of Maryland graduate with a BS in Psychology and Biobehavioral Health, who will present her thesis entitled “Psychosocial Protective Interventions for African American Breast Cancer Survivors” that featured the Thelma D. Jones Breast Cancer Fund as a case study. The meeting will be emceed and facilitated by the renowned Andrea Roane, Emmy Award-Winning Journalist and Breast Cancer Advocate.
Opening remarks will be provided by Lucile Adams-Campbell, PhD, Associate Director for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research, Senior Associate Dean for Community Outreach and Engagement, and Professor of Oncology at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center. Closing remarks by Carla D. Williams, PhD (invited), Associate Professor of Medicine and Public Health, Howard University, and Interim Director, Howard University Cancer Center.
